Tiefgang
Hendrik Renken · AI & Technology Lead
Tiefgang
Hendrik Renken · AI & Technology Lead
The CV, but as a dive. Today at the top, the beginning at the bottom — 100 metres, station by station.
AI & Technology Lead
Head of Technology of the Capsule group — and the entire tech team in one person: responsible for all technology across six locations in Switzerland and Denmark, steering the external developers, negotiating with system vendors, and the first call whenever something breaks.
Own agents in production
A guest agent handling guest communication across all properties — web, WhatsApp and voice. A FinanceBot processing invoices and bookkeeping, live with the finance team. No demos: the metric is manual work saved.
The AI shift
AI out of pilot projects, into operations: knowledge bases with learning loops, AI design tooling built on the brand CI, a weekly AI meeting — by now even the non-techies on the team build their own dashboards.
SaaS, systems & automation
Automated the customer journey end-to-end (Mews API, n8n): self check-in to auto checkout, roughly 50% more efficient check-in — the properties run with minimal on-site presence. Launched all six locations, from Zurich Airport (144 capsules) to Copenhagen.
Own products
After hours he builds Stamply (postcard SaaS, live at Capsule Hotel Lucerne), Lumee (NFC bracelets) and KirchenKI — plus his own agent system as a practice lab.
The move
From East Frisia to Switzerland, joining Capsule Hotel as a trainee — and from there taking over the tech piece by piece: first wifi and access, then the systems, then the responsibility. Traded the North Sea for Lake Lucerne.
Business foundation
Certified retail merchant (IHK), technical college entrance qualification, area sales manager in specialist retail, plus a year of work & travel in Australia. The tech side is entirely self-taught — proven by five years of running the systems.
Bottom reached — 100 m. Also resting down here: tennis, a gravel bike and a guitar. It doesn't go deeper — but it does get more detailed:
